English Language Proficiency
Most UK universities require proof of English language ability. Here are the accepted qualifications.
IELTS Academic
Typical Score: 6.0 - 7.0
The most widely accepted test. Most universities require a minimum overall band of 6.0 with no less than 5.5 in each component.
TOEFL iBT
Typical Score: 80 - 100
Accepted by most UK universities. Scores typically need to be 80+ for undergraduate and 90+ for postgraduate study.
PTE Academic
Typical Score: 55 - 65
Pearson Test of English is accepted by an increasing number of UK universities as an alternative to IELTS.
Cambridge English
